SYNOPSIS (By Fred Logan)

The Spook Who Sat By the Door is a 1973 satire of the US civil rights struggles and the Central Intelligence Agency. It is based on a 1969 novel of the same title by Sam Greenlee.  The main character Dan Freeman is a black CIA agent who leaves the agency to lead a young black Chicago gang in a revolt against the US. Government. The sound track was composed by renown jazz musician Herbie Hancock.
